Milngavie was linked by rail with Glasgow in 1863, but the present station building dates to 1897 when the track was doubled.
It has been sympathetically modernised, retaining its stone flagged floor and slate roofed awning.
This view is taken from the station's Platform 2. The small platform shelter, recently reconstructed, is unfortunately no longer available for passengers' use.
The low sandstone wall to the right of the awning is the only remaining part of the locomotive shed which once stood here.
The station car park is on the site of the goods yard which closed in the 1960s.
Services are currently operated by Class 303 and 320 electric multiple units.
