Other smaller parks and open spaces can be found in Milngavie, and to the north the woods and open moorland are home to roe deer. Burncrooks Reservoir, northwest of Milngavie, is used by the Queen Elizabeth Angling Club.

Highlights of the year

Milngavie Gala Week is held annually at the beginning of June.
Bearsden and Milngavie Highland Games are held annually on around the second Saturday in June

Scouts and Guides
Milngavie has both Scouts and Guides. The Scout Hall is located in Main Street, backing on to Lennox Park; the Guide Hall is in Oakburn Avenue.

Boys' Brigade
The Boys Brigade Hall is in Sinclair Street.

Girls' Brigade
The Girls' Brigade also meets in Milngavie.
